Caitlin & Tom
Clophill Eco Lodges
Bedfordshire
There's an old saying that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. But what happens when your wedding venue is an open-air, centuries-old ruin? Well, Caitlin and Tom showed us that raindrops can't dampen the spirits of true love! I had the privilege of photographing their recent wedding at the Eco Lodges in Clophill, where the ruins of the beautiful Saint Mary's Church added a touch of history and wonder to the backdrop and I witnessed a day that was nothing short of magic, rain and all! It was a day bursting with colour thanks to the DIY flower arrangements and everywhere decked out with ribbons and fiesta bunting. The bridesmaids said no to the cookie-cutter matching dresses and rocked their own individual, vibrant looks that suited them all perfectly. Speaking of ‘looks’ Caitlin binned off the traditional veil for a cape instead! LOVE! But let's talk about the marquee – an artistic masterpiece that blended the couple's shared passions for music and art. Notes and references to their favorite artists were dotted throughout, giving the whole place a vibe that was uniquely them. Amidst the mingling, a caricaturist was there to capture guests' personalities in playful sketches that had everyone smiling, what a great idea! And any wedding where the are dishing out sangria and massive sausage rolls is okay with me and their gorgeous pup also agreed, especially as I was bribing him with them for posing payment!
Personal Highlight:
Caitlin and Tom had everyone channel their inner Picasso and whip up self-portraits, which were then proudly showcased on a crate. And guess what? These quirky masterpieces are destined to become tea towels, just like the ones we used to have back in our school days. Talk about a hilarious blast from the past that had everyone in stitches and ready to dry some dishes! I can’t wait for mine…hint hint!
