FLO & CHARLIE
fox & hounds, ware
This wedding was always going to be close to my heart. A family I have grown up with, always spent half of the school holidays with and continue to remain good friends with. Charlie and Flo, where do I start? Well I guess a good place is the begining. Despite being best friends with Charlie’s sister I had actually not met Flo, but as I expected she was wonderful and welcomed me into her parents home. Flo had her family and close friends with her in the morning whilst Dren was on hair doing a gorgeous stylish bun draped with a beautiful veil. Flo looked absolutely stunning without an ounce of make up, but there to enhance that gorgeous face and give her a total glam look was Sophie. Once her make up was on it was time for the dress, the most wonderful gown from The White Wardrobe in Hitchin. Her whole look was expensive and elegant, and the first look with her maids and parents…….well they were blown away.
We then all headed to Hertford registry office where Charlie was with all his friends and family awaiting Flo’s arrival. He looked so smart in his double breasted linen jacket. It was like arriving home when I got there, all the familiarities with the family, some of which had travelled really far. It was just lovely seeing them all again and I was getting heavily involved in all the hugs!
After a confetti line up and lots more hugs we used the lovely arches for some group shots and couple photos before they were whisked off in Flo’s dads convertible (but the roof did go on ahead of leaving to preserve that perfect hair do).
On arriving at The Fox and hound in Ware I was so excited to capture their dining room. The most gorgeous green panelled room laid up beautifully with wild flowers, it was the perfect setting for their banquet and speeches. The food was crazy good and with the smaller amount of guests everyone (including me) got to pick from the menu what they ate.
The second part of the day saw many more guests arrive and they got to enjoy speeches outside on the terrace with a drink in hand. Sunshine, drinks, funny stories and emotional ones too, it was the prefect setting for both the couple and guests. The speeches were fabulous and guests found themselves laughing wildly one minute and crying the next. The one thing they did know what to do was party the night away. When the DJ hit the decks from Might Fine events everyone hit the floor, busting some moves in the main part of the pub. The guests all found their fuel in Flo & Charlie’s personalised burgers, also wrapped in their own designed paper. How come I hear you ask? Well Charlie is part owner of the delicious Caws Burger in Hitchin, so food, drink and their guests being treated to constant deliciousness was a must for them.
Flo & Charlie your day kept me constant, all the raw emotion, the sincerity and the happiness I got to capture was a pure treat. Seeing you both share such a wonderful day with all your favourite people (and some of mine for that matter) will never be forgotten, thank you for letting me capture it.
Personal Highlight:
I loved the outdoor speeches. I also loved the personalised burgers. I loved seeing all the family again. Who I am trying t kid, there is no ‘one’ highlight, just all f it was bliss!!
