I've been in the wedding photography game for a while, and Nicola and Max's wedding at Oxnead Hall in Norfolk was one for the books. This day was particularly special for me, as I've known Nic for many years. Having seen her as a bridesmaid and guest at many weddings I've shot, it was incredibly touching to finally witness her walk down the aisle, looking absolutely out of this world. Nic stayed true to herself on her big day, and it showed in every detail. Her dress, a bespoke creation by Emma Beaumont, was perfection with every meticulously crafted bead and stitch. Shanie Wright’s makeup and Shanice’s hairstyling created a bridal look that was timeless and suited Nicola to a T. And let’s not forget how slick Max looked in his fit from Marc Darcy and Souster and Hicks!
Just before the rain poured, the couple managed to marry outside in front of the lake, surrounded by Floral Roots' stunning displays. The gospel choir's performance gave everyone tingles, making the ceremony even more breathtaking. I'm so pleased they got to say their vows before the heavens opened on us!
If you know me at all, you’ll know that pink and red is my favorite colour combo and this weddings decor hit it out of the park! I was obsessed with all the details—the candles, the bows, and the personalised embroidered napkins for each guest, which added such a thoughtful touch. Kudos to Synched Events for styling everything so beautifully. We put two fingers up to the weather and finally took Nic’s dad’s vintage Austin Healey out for a spin after dinner, proving once again what a fun-time this couple really are. As the saying goes, “A wet knot is harder to untie,” and I know Nic and Max will prove that to be true!
Personal Highlight:
If you didn’t already know there’s this silly tradition where you bury a sausage the day before the wedding to get good weather. Unfortunately, It didn’t do the trick for Nic and Max, but it gave us all a good laugh!
