Amy & Will
Primrose Hill Farm
I was delighted to return to Primrose Hill Farm after a few years away and wow, have they done bits! The renovations are now complete and, honestly, the place is looking chef’s kiss. But what really takes your breath away are the views! No matter where you stand, you're treated to sweeping Cotswold countryside that looks like it was made for a wedding backdrop.
Every single supplier was buzzing that morning because we were all just so excited to be working with Amy & Will. They’re the kind of couple you dream about working with, so relaxed, so joyful, and so easy-going you’d honestly never guess they were planning a wedding, the perfect clients! I got to team up with the amazing Vogue Wedding Films again, a rare treat, but always a good one. When we join forces, you know the day’s going to be captured beautifully and we always manage to sneak in a laugh or two along the way.
Amy was getting ready in the gorgeous Orchard Barns with her stunning crew of bridesmaids and her lovely mum. Honestly, I adored them all—such a fun, uplifting group of women who clearly just wanted Amy to have the best day. The atmosphere was chilled, happy, and full of excitement. Shoutout to Leanne O'Neill on makeup and Juta Zorubiene on hair, both creating bridal magic. When Amy stepped into her Ivory & Lace dress she looked like a modern Grecian goddess, effortless glam with soft, floaty elegance. And yes, she wore Malone Blahniks! The dream wedding shoe if there ever was one! Earlier in the morning Amy’s dad confidently told me that he “wasn’t a cryer”… which turned out to be a total lie (sorry, Dad). The second he saw Amy, the tears came, and once they started, they didn’t stop. A proud, emotional dad will get me every single time!
The ceremony was filled with pure love and one especially meaningful detail was how Amy and Will chose to honour Will’s mum, Helene, who sadly is no longer with us. The weight of her absence was undeniable, but her presence was beautifully felt—she still had her rightful seat at the front of the ceremony, watching over as Will and Amy exchanging their vows. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. It was a powerful, emotional moment that reminded all of us just how lucky we are to share these days with the people we love.
After the “I dos” guests poured out into the sunshine for drinks, laughter, and some of those stunning countryside views. Chapel Hill Duo were playing and guests were nibbling on canapés and dabbling in a cheeky round of mini golf, because when the groom is a golf lover, of course there’s going to be a putting green involved! The styling on the day from Etiquette Events tied in beautifully with the setting along with the flowers from Bloom Collective, think elegant-meadow-meets-modern-romance, just the right balance of wild and refined.
Throughout dinner and speeches you could feel the joy in the room (and hear the laughter bouncing off the walls). Once everyone had eaten and toasted, it was time for one of my favourite parts of any wedding: cocktail hour. And let me tell you this cocktail hour did not disappoint. The energy was electric, so much chatter, so much happiness, so many empty martini glasses! And the party didn’t slow down for a second, DJ Mike Readings and Dom Plays Sax were back doing what they do best keeping the dance floor full and the vibes sky high!
Personal Highlight:
Discovering a new (and frankly excellent) perk of being a professional footballer. Now, there are plenty of obvious benefits to the job: fitness, travel, questionable haircuts, but one I’d never fully appreciated until this wedding? Your own chant! And what better way to make an entrance into your wedding breakfast than all the guests singing along to “Ole Ole Ole Ole… Will Wright, Wright, Wright!”?!
