Sam & Andrew
swiss Gardens,
Shuttleworth
I not only got to go to one gorgeous wedding venue for Sam and Andrew’s day – I got to go to two. Talk about spoiled! The morning started at the beautiful Farmhouse at Redcoats, where both of them were getting ready. It meant I could dash between prep rooms, catching Andrew getting suited and booted while Sam was over in her room, casually doing her own glam like an absolute pro. She honestly looked unreal!
The flowers were everything! My fave Hopyard Lane worked her magic again, and it’s been ages since I’ve had the joy of shooting her creations. You can spot her arrangements a mile off, always the best of the best. Add in the bridesmaids’ dresses in warm burnt oranges and blush satin, such a gorgeous palette for a September wedding.
Then it was onto the Swiss Gardens at Shuttleworth for the ceremony. If you’ve never been, let me set the scene: it’s like stepping into a storybook. Sam and Andrew chose the adorable Swiss Cottage, which honestly looks like it was plucked straight out of a fairytale illustration. Tucked away in the gardens, it made for the sweetest, most intimate ceremony.
After the “I do’s,” it was time to celebrate with drinks and canapés by the fab Supper Brothers and served by the groomsmen themselves. Whilst enjoyed food and bevvies the guests got to enjoy music by the incredible String Infusion. Guests were mingling on the lawn with champagne in hand, and the whole vibe was giving luxury picnic energy, bliss.
I snuck Sam and Andrew off for a wander around the grounds, which, let’s be real, is basically like being handed a photographer’s dream playground. Every corner of Shuttleworth has some new magical spot, and our favourite find was the grotto, a little cave-like hideaway that felt like our own secret escape. And then, just as if someone had ordered it from the wedding weather gods, the heavens opened the second we were packing up. Not a drop before, not a drop during – just perfect timing.
Personal Highlight:
I have such a soft spot for intimate ceremonies, or ‘little shindigs’ as we like to call them. Intimate, personal and plenty of time to enjoy all your guests and chat with everyone. They are absolutely what I would describe as ‘small but mighty’.
