Jo & Spencer
The Grove
Jo enquired a while back and was made up when I had the date available, I was made up too. Not only was the wedding being held at The Grove but they were all Canadian, so most of the guests were travelling over to have some UK nuptials and celebrations.
I found Jo getting glammed up with Chloe Grace in her suite, looking glamourise as ever with her rollers in. Her Watters dress (that had been transformed by Laurie Brown) was unreal, a floating dream.
Jo & Spencer are big theatre goers (also performing and musical themselves) so choosing just outside London was tactical for their celebrations, after all there is only one west end. Jo took a huge gamble on her shoes, knowing she wanted some incredible La Duca shoes, (renowned for being made to measure for the West End and Broadway) she came from Canada with no bridal shoes. Well the gamble paid off and not only did she get the perfect gold shoes but ones that were made for the London ‘Tina’ show.
Once everyone was ready the small wedding party gathered around a floral arch of dreams by Hei Designs, where Jo’s brother in law conducted a service for them. It was intimate and perfect. Whilst guests enjoyed champagne and wondering the beautiful gardens we went off for some couple shots. The areas for this are endless at The grove and we even managed to grab some in front of the Feast on Cloud 9, with its famous red balloons.
Next came the banquet for the guests whilst enjoying music by Painist HMH Collective, and of course theatre songs were amongst much of the music played. Also jumping on the piano was Spencer’s son, a true talent playing to guests whilst his father watched on proudly. After the meal was ‘open mic’ style speeches. Anyone had the opportunity to come up, share a memory, offer marital advice, make each there laugh, but mostly guests stated how grateful they were to be their.
With most guests combining Europe travels, lots of west end shows and time together it was obvious that Jo and Spencer had hosted the perfect UK wedding for friends and family to enjoy. It was a pleasure to shoot and meet all the lovely Canadian contingent.
Personal Highlight:
All the attention to detail was just spot on. Jo and Spencer’s impeccable taste meant the dress, the florals, the food, the entertainment and the whole vibe was simply perfect.
