Hannah & lui

the Orangery
Maidstone

What a way to kick off a bank holiday weekend! This was the first of our triple-header of weddings, and it couldn’t have been a better start – photographing my old school friend Hannah as she married her love, Lui.

We hit the road bright and early and, honestly, when we pulled up at The Orangery in Maidstone, jaws dropped. That place is like something out of a fairytale…lakes, gardens, woodland, the works. We knew instantly we were in for a dreamy day. The colour palette was a total show-stopper too, rich dark greens paired with pops of hot pink. Floral Explosion absolutely nailed it with blooms dotted everywhere, bringing the whole space to life.

Hannah spent the morning surrounded by her gorgeous bridesmaids, her mum, her mother-in-law-to-be, and, of course, her adorable bubbas. The energy was calm, happy, and full of laughter – very Hannah. The glam squad, Rose Deeney and Zoe Stevenson, worked their magic, and the whole room was just a vision. But when Hannah slipped into her Pronovias gown from Lotte Rose Bridal, more jaw dropping proceeded. She could genuinely make a bin bag look beautiful, but in that dress, she was next-level stunning.

Meanwhile, Lui and the guests gathered lakeside, waiting for the big moment. The Orangery’s ceremony spot is unreal! Imagine a stroll through the gardens, a wander past the woodland, and then suddenly you’re standing by the water watching Hannah and Lui tie the knot! Heaven!

The afternoon rolled into exactly what you’d want from a summer wedding: Pimms in hand, canapés doing the rounds, guests snapping selfies, and everyone soaking up those gardens. Then came the speeches, which were just perfection. Lui had us all laughing one second and wiping away tears the next.

After dinner, we whisked Hannah and Lui off for what was possibly one of the most beautiful golden-hour wanders through the grounds we’ve ever been on. I think we could have taken them for hours and hours but the dancefloor was calling and we are not one to get in the way of a good ol boogie!

Personal Highlight:

When you picture a 10/10 wedding venue, you definitely don’t expect to find it tucked away in a business park. Honestly, we were shooketh when we parked up and then strolled into The Orangery – it’s like stepping into a secret garden. Absolutely breathtaking and we haven’t stopped banging on about it!

“Wow! Thank you both so so much! We absolutely loved having you there on our day, you’re both incredible at what you do and we’ve had so many comments on how great you both were from friends and family! ”
