Nadine & Shane
Hadsham Farm
Ahhh, where do I even begin with Nadine & Shane’s big day at the glorious Hadsham Farm?! Think tipis, tattoos, and a whole lot of Italian flair — all set against that dreamy lakeside backdrop.
I found Nadine tucked away in a cosy little hut on the hill overlooking the lake and the tipis. With bacon sarnies for breakfast - peak wedding prep fuel, kisses galore from their sweet dog Fennel and just general excitement. Fennel looking dapper as ever was soon whisked off to deliver a heartfelt letter from Nadine to Shane, talk about emotional sabotage…in the best way of course! Nadine’s bouquet was lovingly created by her sister and looked absolutely perfect with photos of her grandparents attached. With a huge portion of Nadine’s family being Italian, there were hugs, tears and that unmistakable warm Italian energy flowing all morning.
The ceremony… Oh, it was one for the books!. Forget your traditional flower girls (don’t worry, they had one of those too), this wedding had ‘Tinnie Lads’. That’s right, a couple of ushers handing out cold cans to guests. And officiating the whole shebang was a very suspicious-looking clergyman… who turned out to be Nadine’s brother in law. Following the ceremony was an epic confetti tunnel, and then, THE FOOD… and what a feast it was. Shane being one half of the incredible catering duo Brothers Supper, it was always going to be a mega feast. Guests were spoiled with oysters, caviar, and the most glorious canapés.
Later, under the twinkly lights of the tipi, everyone tucked into a meal that dreams are made of: a proper antipasto spread, Nonna’s tomato rigatoni, spaghetti with mussels and clams, slow-roasted porchetta and Mum’s Braciole Classico. Basically, if you left hungry, you were doing it wrong. The tipi itself looked unreal, think tables filled with potted herbs, boozy wedding favours, and wedges of parmesan just waiting to be grated over everything. Not forgetting the epic cake by Oh My Cakery which quickly had chunks scooped out by little fingers. Mid-dinner, guests were hit with a surprise twist: a tattoo truck by Enigma Tattoo piercing. Yep! A legit truck where guests could get inked right then and there. Like a reverse guest book I suppose?!
Just as the sun decided to make an appearance, Nadine reappeared in a gorgeous outfit change and the pair took off in a little rowing boat across the lake like a scene out of a rom-com. And of course, it wouldn’t be an Italian wedding without a dance floor-kicking rendition of La Tarantella. Picture everyone circling the couple, dancing wildly, wrapping them in ribbons and streamers. It was joyful, chaotic, symbolic, and honestly, just plain brilliant, very much like the whole day!
I couldn’t wrap this blog post up without mentioning our fave video guy, Will Wood. He is an absolute solid supplier to work with and I am always wowed by the creative flare he brings to the wedding. It was a real honour for us both to shoot fellow wedding suppliers who have so frequently been on the other side, but this time to capture them having their turn to be ‘the couple’ was simply wonderful.
Personal Highlight:
I am sure I say this for so many but it really was so hard to choose. The crazy ceremony, the couples outfits, Fennel the dog, sunset on the lake, a first for me, the tattoo van…….. but I am a foodie and alas, an Italian feast had to just pip the post for the highlight.
