Tim & Amber
The Tythe Barn
Bicester
Tim and Amber’s wedding was one of those days where everything just clicked. The couple, the venue, the weather, the vibe – it all came together in the most effortless, joy-filled way. And yes, Timber might just be the best nickname ever!
Now, anyone who knows us at Binky Nixon Photography knows we love shooting at The Tythe Barn in Bicester. It’s one of those places that just ticks all the boxes – gorgeous light, dreamy backdrops, and the friendliest team. We’ve been lucky enough to shoot there loads over the years, and every single time it brings the magic. This time it was great to work with Katie Marie Event Styling, who designed and managed the day.
Amber’s style was absolutely made for this venue, her whole vibe was stunning and elegant. And don’t even get me started on the flowers by the insanely talented Charles & Faye – they absolutely smashed it as always.
Getting ready was a whole event in itself. The vibes? Immaculate. Not just for the bride, but the entire bridal party. Tythe Bar hands down has one of the best getting ready setups out there. I caught guests already soaking up the sunshine in the garden, playing a spot of tennis and lounging around like it was a mini spa break before the day kicked off. Amber and the bridal gang got ready in the Nook, which felt like a peaceful little bubble tucked away from the world, while Tim and the lads took over the Lodge enjoying afternoon tea whilst they got ready.
The ceremony…Oh my…What a treat. Thanks to a beautiful burst of sunshine, they were able to tie the knot outside under the wisteria, which honestly looked like something out of a movie led my the amazing Samantha Kelsie, who also MC’d for the rest of the day. Amber’s son totally stole the show as the flower boy, rocking a bum bag stuffed with petals and getting the crowd pumped for her entrance. Absolute legend. There were cheers, claps, and more than a few happy tears.
Now let’s talk barn goals. The reception space looked absolutely phenomenal, huge credit again to Katie Marie Styling who brought all the elegance and charm, with more dreamy blooms from Charles & Faye, plus gorgeous tableware that really elevated everything. Styling like that makes more of a difference than people often realise, it was Pinterest-perfect.
Then came the speeches – kicking off with their daughter (yep young but brave standing on her chair and saying some utterly wonderful things). Cue all the laughs, a few happy sobs, and a whole lot of love in the room. And after that, cocktail hour. And let me tell you, The Tythe Barn does not mess about when it comes to cocktail hour. Espresso martinis and margaritas flowed, and honestly, what better way to ease into the evening vibes?
Personal Highlight:
Instead of a traditional first dance, Tim and Amber kicked things off with a human tunnel – yes, a tunnel of arms and pure joy – which they ran through to open the dance floor in style. It was fun, full of energy and a brilliant alternative if slow dancing in front of a crowd isn’t quite your vibe!
