Tash & Alex
Bedford
There’s something special about returning to familiar faces and places, and that’s exactly how I felt when I was asked to capture Tash and Alex's wedding in a quaint village just outside of Bedford. Having photographed her sister’s wedding back in 2021, I had grown fond of this warm, lively family. So, when Tash and her mum reached out—even though I was fully booked—I couldn’t resist being part of another of their joyful celebrations. The day started as a true family affair, with the house bustling with energy. Tash’s sisters, friends, parents, and all the gorgeous babies filled the home. Everyone pitched in, from preparing the house and gardens, to keeping Tash calm and excited for the big day ahead. Tash was radiant from the very beginning, she had an infectious energy that set the tone for the entire day.
The ceremony took place at the charming church just a stone's throw from Tash’s family home. The intimate setting was made even more special by a gospel choir that filled the church with soulful, uplifting music. I’m not ashamed to admit that I was moved to tears…more than once! As the couple exited the church, they were met with a shower of confetti, smiles, and cheers. They then hopped into a family friend’s Porsche and whizzed away, leaving their guests to stroll back to the family home, where the reception awaited.
The reception was held in Tash’s parents' beautiful walled garden, which served as the perfect backdrop for the celebrations. The garden was adorned with stunning displays, and the sun shone down, adding to the gorgeous, laid-back vibes. A roaming band played as guests sipped champagne and enjoyed the canapés from Passion fruit catering. The wedding breakfast was nothing short of epic. Guests were greeted by a flame-lined entrance, napkins waving high in the air and guests (including the Mother of the Bride!) up on their chairs cheering and dancing. The Mediterranean theme was beautifully executed, with tables decorated in green glassware, herbs, lemons, flowers from Pick A Lily and plenty of limoncello!
Personal Highlight:
One of the most remarkable aspects of Tash and Alex’s wedding was how quickly they pulled everything together. With the unexpected move overseas on the horizon, they planned the entire event in just three months! It’s something we’ve seen more and more this year, and there’s something incredibly romantic about the spontaneity!
