Faye & Matt

The Tythe Barn
Bicester

There’s something about The Tythe Barn in autumn that feels like a warm hug—a mix of festivity and cosiness that just sets the perfect tone for a wedding. I’ve shot weddings there across all seasons, and each has its magic, but autumn holds a special place in my heart. And Faye and Matt’s wedding was a perfect example of why.

When Faye first told me about her journey to this day, she hinted that it had been a challenging couple of years, and she was ready for her "swan moment." Hearing those words pulled at my heartstrings; it felt like she’d been waiting for this day not only to marry Matt but also to step into a beautiful, radiant version of herself. And when I saw her in her Tilly Mint gown, I knew exactly what she meant. As she turned the corner to walk down the aisle with her lovely mum, Matt was in utter awe, completely flabbergasted! One of my favorite touches was the live illustrator, Charlotte Jones. Charlotte was so much fun, and the guests absolutely adored having a little memento to take home. I couldn’t help but think how I wish I’d had something like that for my own wedding! Since it was a Sunday wedding, Faye and Matt went all-in on the cosy vibes and chose a classic Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings. There’s something about a roast on a crisp autumn day that just feels like home, and it was the perfect way to bring everyone together and celebrate. Guests were relaxed, enjoying good food and great conversation—it really set the tone for the rest of the evening. Just before cutting their stunning Cake Daydreams cake—an incredibly generous gift to the couple—Faye and Matt gathered everyone outside for a sparkler send-off. This time of year, sparklers are always a hit! As the evening settled in, Faye and Matt had the sweetest moment with their mums. Before jumping into their own first dance, they took a spin on the dance floor with them first, it was just so sweet!

Personal Highlight:

The speeches were an absolute highlight for me. With Faye’s mum, her best friend, Matt, one of Matt’s best men, and even Faye herself stepping up to the mic, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room—or a break in the belly laughs! I had to remind myself not to laugh too loudly behind the camera, and even had a good cry along with everyone else.

“Thank you SO much for being so wonderful yesterday. It truly felt like you were one of my besties, bigging me up to make me feel like a queen and making me laugh all day! You brought out the best in us both and that is evident in how comfortable we look in the pictures. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to capture our most special day. You’re a star!”
