Ellie & Aston
Cambridgeshire
If you’re going to kick off your wedding day, why not start how all great stories do…down the pub! That’s exactly what Aston did with his groomsmen, steadying the nerves with a round or two of Dutch courage, essential wedding prep really. And in true farmer fashion, the boys then rocked up to the church in an old-school Land Rover Defender—because honestly, if you don’t arrive in one of those, are you even a farmer?
Meanwhile, back at the family farm, Ellie was getting ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, loads of laughter, and the occasqional TikTok rehearsal. It was relaxed, joyful, and buzzing with that pre-wedding excitement. We love a bridal party that keeps it real, and even better, each bridesmaid wore their own dress in shades of blue—whilst the bride wore a stunning gown by Perlanova bridal. Ellie was also helped by the bridal beauty team Sylwia MUA and Bliss Hair & Beauty, she looked insane.
Now, because it wouldn’t be a British wedding without a bit of drama from the sky, the day started with a few showers. But right on cue—like something out of a romcom—the sun made its grand entrance just in time for the afternoon celebrations. After a heartfelt ceremony, it was back to the farm for the reception and honestly, what a sight! The marquee was an absolute showstopper, bursting with greenery, flowers corn woven into the styling as a nod to the couple’s farming roots, all put together my the wonderfully talented Emily Tallulah Flowers . Oh, and casually parked beside it? A tractor AND a combine harvester, etched with Ellie and Aston’s initials, as you do!
Guests were treated to flowing champagne and some seriously good canapés by Little Piggy’s Catering, which disappeared quickly. After dinner (and some top-tier speeches), the family’s favourite drinking game made its traditional appearance: the Boat Race. For the uninitiated, it’s boys vs girls, napkins as bibs, and a whole lot of competitive downing of drinks. Things got loud, messy, and absolutely hilarious! And then came the dancing, the band were on fire, the festoons lit up the farm, and the dance floor was packed with guests throwing shapes like their lives depended on it. It was the perfect mix of chaos and joy! As I packed up and took one last look back at the glowing marquee and the sound of bangers rolling over the fields, I thought—yep, this was a good one!
Personal Highlight:
Their very own air show. Yep you heard that right. When Aston proposed to Ellie (on top of a combine, no less), he’d arranged a flyover, so of course, in true Aston style, he called in a favour from their pilot neighbour for the big day. Cue a plane swooping overhead, smoke trailing a giant heart in the sky, and even a bit of free-falling for good measure. Honestly, who needs fireworks when you've got that?!
