When life gives you rain, you make the best of it! Gaby and Tom’s wedding at Hawthorn Grove proved that even the wettest day can turn into a fantastic celebration! Gaby and Tom’s special day began just a stone's throw away from the venue, at Gaby’s parents’ home. Gaby, surrounded by her loved ones and her two energetic sons, prepared for her big moment with the help of Kitty Scarlet on makeup and her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Abby Membreno, taking care of her hair. As the ceremony approached, the weather took a dramatic turn. It was one of the wettest weddings I’ve ever shot, but rain or shine, the essence of the day was all about Gaby and Tom’s story. Their vows were exchanged in the woodland setting of Hawthorn Grove, where the rain only seemed to enhance the magical of it all, guests, undeterred by the downpour, were completely captivated! Once the “I dos” were done, guests headed to the cozy tipi to stay dry. Inside, it was like stepping into a warm, festive haven, with chatter filling the air, margaritas flowing, delicious canapés from The Outside Kitchen and Bar being served up and tunes from Daniel Butterworth setting the mood, the atmosphere was gorgeous. The banquet that followed was truly amazing—some of the best wedding food I’ve ever tasted! We’re talking mouthwatering dishes and jugs of sangria, yum! The decor was spot-on, with mini maracas, embroidered napkins from Mexico, bottles of Patron, and vibrant flowers from Orchard Garden Flowers adding to all the vibrant colours. After the rain, the sun finally made an appearance, and the views at Hawthorn Grove were absolutely stunning. Guests emerged from the tipi to soak up the beautiful afternoon sun and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. As the evening rolled in, the party really kicked off. DJ Henry Bonsor and the Hosen Brass band took to the stage, and the dance floor was packed with guests ready to party!
Personal Highlight:
Watching family members fly in from Mexico and the US to celebrate with Gaby and Tom made the day even more meaningful. Capturing these precious moments of togetherness was a reminder of how rare and special it is for loved ones to gather and celebrate.
