KATE & BEN
CADIZ, SPAIN
I’ve have the honour of being friends with Kate and Ben for the past 20 years and worked alongside them on many weddings. Ben is the founder of Kissing Gate Films and was the videographer at my own wedding, so it only seemed right for me to return the favor!! I think I might of got the better end of the bargain as this pair decided to host their nuptials in Spain! Lucky me! Obviously this wedding was shot in the summer and revisiting it now and looking through the shots, I feel so fortunate to have gone to this beautiful part of the world with these wonderful people to capture their day!
Cadiz is a special place to Ben and Kate as they often surf that coastline, dine in the local tapas and have made many memories there. Trafalgar Polo Club was the only place to host this special day with guests from the UK, Spain and Gibraltar. It is always daunting shooting for a fellow photographer and I think at one point when I looked around I saw 6 people capturing the wedding on various formats. Despite this it is a true honor and I am so grateful they trusted me to do so. With bouquets made by Kates bridesmaids, a friend doing their nuptials and all the kids mucking in to move furniture around, it was a real family affair. Sunset photos on the beech, wonderful stories told by friends and family during the speeches and a little private first dance for me to capture, there were just endless pinch me moments. Thank you Ben and Kate for trusting me, this is a wedding and trip that will always hold a special place in my heart.
Personal Highlight:
Walking down to the beach as the sun went down, and spotting horses being ridden along the waters edge, it was like the perfect shot unfolded right in front of my eyes.
